So the wailing and screaming I heard as I woke up this morning was Glenn Beck.

Of course Al Gore was involved in the research and advocacy for global warming and environmentalist causes. Just because he wears a suit and did not get shot or thrown in jail does not mean he didn't do things or have an impact.

Talking about Glenn Beck. I just heard he is Mormon. Not by birth, he CONVERTED!
Ok I admit, Al Gore did have other accomplishment. What's a bit ... you know ... is he was actaully sharing the nobel with UN panel on climate change, but nobody ever mention the panel any more.

First-Year Grad Student Wins Nobel Prize in Economics!

Pfuffnick's Nobel Economics Prize triumph hailed by many

LONDON — The surprise choice of first-year grad student Quintus Pfuffnick for the Nobel Prize in Economics drew praise from much of the world Friday even as many pointed out the youthful economist has not yet published anything in scholarly journals.

The new PhD candidate was hailed for his willingness to tackle difficult problems, his commitment to improving the economic system, and his goal of bringing efficiency and equality into harmony.

Professor Paul Krugman of Princeton, who won the prize in 2008, said Pfuffnick's award shows great things are expected from him in the coming years.

"In a way, it's an award coming near the beginning of the first year in grad school of a relatively young economist that anticipates an even greater contribution towards making our economy a better place for all," he said. "It is an award that speaks to the promise of Mr Pfuffnick's message of hope."

He said the prize is a "wonderful recognition of Pfuffnick's essay in his grad school application."

It's kind of entertaining to see conservatives get their shorts all bunched up and for a few politically minded, decrepit old Swedes.

Too bad the peace prize is eclipsing the "Who the Hell Is This Woman" moment for the literature award. Chinese authors living abroad have a lot to look forward to --- keep pumping out those novels about the horrible oppression under the Communist government and soon you'll get the $1.4 mil.

柯林顿干的事儿不少, 可是也有些应该干的事儿没干, 比如卢旺达大屠杀柯林顿选择袖手旁观, 很多人权活动家至今对此耿耿于怀啊 后来克林顿就吸取教训介入科索沃了.

那个文学奖获得者也太小众了, 不知道诺贝尔委员会的人是怎么想的.

諾貝爾委員會主席獨立性遭質疑 被要求辭職

　　新華社上午電 挪威主要反對黨領導人10日要求諾貝爾委員會主席托爾比約恩·亞格蘭辭職，後者前一天宣佈美國總統奧巴馬獲諾貝爾和平奬。

　　挪威議會第二大政黨進步黨主席西芙·延森說，鑒於亞格蘭同時擔任歐洲委員會秘書長有損其獨立性，他應當辭去挪威諾貝爾委員會主席一職。保守黨領袖埃爾娜·索爾貝格也批評亞格蘭身兼二職，並質疑他把諾貝爾和平奬頒給奧巴馬的決定。
