到网上查原始实验的资料后心慌气短更甚(the original experiment was fully documented with videos and pictures on a daily basis)。
我自己的两滴口水是,实验中的每一个人都是所谓 our everyday normal nice person, and what the heck happened to them? 每个人 都说, 'I have mind of my own'. What really scares me is how easily our so called independent mind can be manipulated. Maybe it is not that easy, but certainly easier than we think, for example, it took only 6 days in this experiment, others like wars, our cultural revolution, even religions (the last word might offend some people, sorry, it is just personal opinion).
我猜一半儿一半儿,and it seems like it actully doesn't take much to leash the evil said out.

I agree. What is shocking to me is in this experiment, it didn’t take much of a push. Things started to go wrong on the second day. Everyone was fully aware that it was just an experiment, and they were hanging out nicely right before the experiment.
I am also curious that if the outcome would be any different if the participants were women instead of men. Probably not much, since in those pictures of the Iraq prison scandal, that female US soldier seemed to enjoy herself just as much.

The Battle of Wounded Knee流传下来的幽灵舞.

The experiment simply illustrated the fact that while we may be able to guide away from immoral behavior, most of us still do damage though amoral behaviors, and doing evil in the name of morality is the way most evil get done anyway.
To ponder whether humans are born good or evil is like to ask whether a magnet possess more South pole or North pole.
People do not always share interest. Period.
And when interests contradict, one's nice is the other's menace.

I agree with dropby on this. It is not a very smart thing to do to put human nature to test. It is more like ‘you want the truth? You CANNOT handle the truth’.
In another well known experiment, the participants were given the power to give electrical shock to whoever answered their questions wrong (the shock wasn’t real of course. The scientists were just faking the pain on the other side of the glass). The result was most of the people increased the voltage of the shock, some of them even to a brutal level. Afterwards they were given the detailed the report on their behaviors. When they found out what they were capable of doing, they got pretty depressed.
I meant the Stanford Prison Experiment with female participants.
