Marie Clarie上的文章，Eve Ensler（就是knowing在地毯店碰见的Vagina Monologues的作者）写的，讲的是墨西哥小城Ciudad Juarez过去10年超过1000名妇女被强奸被杀以及失踪的事。我一看，电光火石间想起亦老太的《这双手虽然小》也有这段，看来文学还是源于生活的。可这报道真叫人生气，都持续了10年，凶手居然还没找到，听听该国司法部长怎么说来着，“When a woman goes missing, the parents will tell you she was practically a saint. But then we find that she was out dancing every night。”我呸，这TMD还是人话吗
据说美国大叔看不下去了，要派人协助调查，我暗自希望CSI的神探科学家们能从天而降把坏蛋揪出来绳之以法。文章结尾让人无比难过“Esther and I go to Casa Amiga, which bears the burden of Juarez's terrible secret. I hear about a young woman named Brenda. Then I hear a second story about a young lady named Brenda. They are different women - one survived, one died - but I soon realise that Juarez is a world of Brenda. Sometimes, their bones turn up in car parks; sometimes, their bodies are never found.”
