[问题] Anybody here using digital voice recorder?

I have been thinking of getting a digital voice recorder to organize my random thought.
Now that I am going to Beijing to visit my Mom, I am shopping for one with relatively long recording time to leave some family history.

This seems to contain the functions I need, but is so much more chunky than I imagined.

Anybody here using digital voice recorder? Any recommendations?

我我我，其实是双双在用。我们用的牌子是松下，大概是4-5年前的型号，效果还行，跟录像机似的分几个模式，高清晰度，中档，还有最长录音时间几个选项，那个压缩率高的最长录音时间模式根本没法用，效果很差。我们这个还有个缺点就是文件格式很奇怪，不是标准的wave甚至mp3格式，虽然带了根线可以连计算机倒到硬盘上，但是需要额外的转换软件来转成标准格式。
建议如下：
1，高容量，最好在高清晰度模式下能录好长时间。如果不是非voice recorder不可，还有几个选择。很多mp3 player现在都带这个功能，比如ipod，几十G的容量就足够了，但是我的老ipod的自己去买mic。另外pocket PC也有录音功能，如果有扩展槽可以插额外的内存卡就能录很长时间了。
2，标准声音文件格式，以及可以转到计算机上的功能，方便文件存档保存。
3，方便操作，如果你打算以后给孩子玩的话。我们这个虽然有种种缺陷，但是操作简单，双双现在用得熟门熟路，吓得我们说话的时候都提心吊胆，生怕有啥不合适的给录下来。

另外我以前见过有很小巧的录音笔卖，好象是索尼的牌子，就象支笔的样子，不知道现在还有没有。

Shall I get an mic for my old ipod ? The battery life is really short on my antient ipod , and I havn't decided whether to take my laptop back.

我用palm。。。无论是开始的T3还是现在的Treo都可以录音。录音的格式是palm自己的格式，不过有免费的软件可以转换。

这个可以回国买，如果只是要求具备这么个功能的话。
我买mp3的时候看见带录音功能的才300多人民币，也是有两档可以选择。
还有耳机，两块钱人民币，简直疯了！那塑料大概都不止这个价钱。
我出于好奇买了一个，居然用了三个多月了还没坏呢，唯一的毛病是线比一般的短点儿。
真是跟疯狂的石头里一样――连线短点儿都一样。

yeah, the battery life is a big concern for older version IPOD. maybe you can try ebay to find a mic, if it's cheap (include shipping & handling)
