Detective Robert Goren has fallen out of favors with me, unfortunately, since Rene Balcer left the show (because he's too expensive) and Warren Leight took over the reign. Mr. Leight is either ignorant or indifferent to the conventions of detective mysteries. He screws up the writing so bad that I can't bear to finish any episode of the new CI.

It is proof yet again that Det. Goren contains more of his creator Balcer than the actor Vincent D'Onofrio...
