Rick Santorum LOST his seat. Cheers

Sen. Rick Santorum, a strong voice for conservatives who rose to be the No. 3 Senate Republican, lost his seat, finally.
And Stephen Colbert suggest he should do more than lip-service for his anti-stem-cell-research and anti-abortion stand, with womb tranplantaion technology on the horizon.

I haven't be this gleeful for a long time.

(Previously) Honey, I will risk your life to prove my point
Introducting: Rick Santorum, US Senitor form Pennsylvania
who sport a pro-life voting record.
Voted NO on $100M to reduce teen pregnancy by education & contraceptives. (Mar 2005)
Voted YES on criminal penalty for harming unborn fetus during other crime. (Mar 2004) PASSED
Voted YES on banning partial birth abortions except for maternal life. (Mar 2003) PASSED
Voted YES on maintaining ban on Military Base Abortions. (Jun 2000) PASSED
Voted YES on banning partial birth abortions. (Oct 1999) amended and PASSED
Voted YES on banning human cloning. (Feb 1998) PASSED
Santorum has said he is personally against abortion.
How personal?
In 1996, the senitor and his wife were informed that the fetus she was carring suffered a fatal defect. Even if born alive, the baby, they were told, would not be viable. Infections ensued, and with his wife’s life in jeopardy, physicians asked the senator to consider an abortion. The senator, as he reported in a press conference afterward, never even came close to accepting that option. As he put it, his wife Karen Garver Santorum “was in danger of septic shock... but she was not in imminent danger”.
The couple already had three young children, but this fourth birth was given clear priority over his wife’s well-being as well as that of her other children.
Fortunately, the mother survived. (But the new baby she risked her life for, as doctors predicted, died shortly after birth.)
Now he goes on attacking “Roe v. Wade.” (you know what this is, right? In this land of freedom, we don’t have any specific writing stating abortion is legal, only a prior to discourage/prohibit punishment of those who chose abortion)
Oh, freedom, Sen. Rick Santorum claims “Life comes before freedom, and our founding fathers knew this.”

Sen. Rick Santorum holds the No. 3 leadership post in the Senate GOP caucus.
In other news, Sen.Santorum has expressed disapproval of homosexuality. In 2001, Santorum tried unsuccessfully to insert language into the No Child Left Behind bill that would have required "a full range of views"--i.e. Intelligent design be taught in science classrooms in public schools
What are we to do? We can not just cry "what a loser" and let him be. This is a United States Senate.
Elections for the United States Senate will be held on November 7, 2006. Sen.Rick Santorum is up for reelection for six-year terms.
Last year, the pool stated Santorum at 41% and Casey at 52%, but early 2006, the wind shifted, now Santorum lead the pool at 70%.
If re-elected his term of office will be from January 3, 2007 until January 3, 2013.

the bill banning late term abortions except for maternal life also passed the 1/2 vote required on March 13, 2003, and is on its way to become Public Law No: 108-105
Here is the voting summary. I urge those of us with the power to vote, please pay close attention to these politicians who are taking away our human rights.
