i'm more annoyed by the fact that this has been made into a big deal. i found huang's coarse and super embellished commentary an assault on the senses, but i could hardly care who he sided with. he sounded silly for 5 minutes, and people should be able to laugh at his silliness, but that should've been it. this whole nationalist vs. liberal debate is nauseating.

i don't really like wang xiaofeng. his writing just doesn't appeal to me, and he seems very one-dimensional.

i love mr. wan yi (gong tong ti gao) much, much more. from his writing he sounds like the exact kind of guy i would've gone for when i was young. maybe even now.

That's just it. He wasn't dinged for loving Italy, but for his derogatory remarks about Australia. And the real reason for him to hate Australia is because Australia is in the same qualifying region as China. It's like attacking eastern European figure skating judges to push up U.S. skaters who lose. Stupid tricks like that just annoy me. I find it incredibly petty and LAME!

hmmm i took that as a pathetic attempt at self-defense, to placate angry fans with some random nationalistic justification. it would seriously depress me if that was indeed the reason for his meltdown.

Petty jealousy pretty much sums it all up.

See how watching figure skating for years prepares one to see through motivations of these people?

What's wrong with you girls? Huang is goodlooking, sincere, and passionate. I totally forgive him for being silly. ( -- sounds familiar? )

I also think the nationalistic justification is just a lame P.R trick. But even Huang has a bit of nationalist in him, given the generation he belongs to, I really dont' expect him to be completely worldly. Hmmmmmmmmmm. Jun.................aren't you the one who just wrote the following a few days ago? "The influence of education is never as deep and significant as the influence of parents and the social and peer environment around a person. "

I saw a clip of Anderson Cooper's interview of Angelina Jolie the other day. I hardly paid any attention to the content. :party003:

No. He has made absolutely no comments on this issue. I kind of respect his attitude on this issue. When the whole world thinks you are gay, remaining silence is the equivalent of "Yes but I want my privacy and I don't want to use my sexuality as publicity stun".

That's pretty much the attitude of the majority gay celebrities.

For him there is another issue -- he is a serious (at least in his own mind) TV reporter for CNN. You know the conservative pundits would immediately jump on him and his program if he officially comes out. They would attack everything he reports from the gay angle, even though I think he intentionally avoid subjects like gay marriage legislations etc. ("He's gay so what do you expect? Of course he is a libral. Of course he is a part of the gay conspiracy to demolish the family value. Of course he is going to poison your children's mind. Of course he's going to sneak into your house and kidnap your 10 yo son and turn him into a damned homosexual.")

He would instantly lose all credibility with the intelligent and open-minded American public audience and in the broadcast journalism business.

They all know it, but because he does not admit it in public, they cannot use it as an excuse to ridicule him and tear him down.

I am confused. If he never admit it and no one actually saw his partner. How come everyone is so convinced that he is gay?

AC was seen at gay conventions to show support a few times.
I agree with Jun that AC, as a serious new anchor, can not come out and risk becoming easy target. But at least he wasn't super secretive about it or deny fiercely (like Tom Cruise). He has chosen this career, not a fasion model or host of American Idol. And he worked hard for 15 years to get where he is now. So at least we can say he doesn't pursue cheap fame.

Tom Cruise is not gay. Tom Cruise is a freak.
