恶人谷

俺今天又看牙医去了，把之前定做的牙冠装上。我并且心痛的了解到，我今年的牙医保险已经超支了。
一年的牙医保险，我们公司给保的三角，上限是$1500。而我今年所有的钱，都花在这一颗牙上，19号，左边靠下从里往外数第2颗。
再加上上我自己付的部分，再加上去年花在上面的。
妈妈米娅~~~买两个LV大包绰绰有余。
这颗牙给我带来的麻烦最多最多，从小开始，到大学，都毛病不断，因为位置不是最里面，也总是想拔拔不了。最严重的一次，大学一年级，突然犯牙痛，引起高烧，我几次痛得在医生那儿哭起来。
这么多年，这颗牙，总共做过两次根管道，三个牙冠（含这次这个）。
我那天跟泼墨玩笑说全身上下最值钱的也不过在自己的左手无名指上，带着个四五十寸的液晶电视满街走。
现在我严肃的更正，我全身上下最值钱的是在我嘴里的19号牙。
下次有人抢劫，我决定张开嘴把牙送给他。
“大哥阿您就把我这19号牙拿去吧，省点儿花足够吃大半年”
也了我多年想拔而被牙医屡屡阻止的心愿。

这比方打的不好。牙齿是必须品，不能选择做不做。LV 包是奢侈品，用来吸引眼球，是可买可不买的。要是做了塑胶手术，才好算某处的LV 包。

缺颗牙没关系的，不算啥必须品，重要的切割咀嚼功能能完成就行。

记得我第一次在瑞典去看牙,医生就说应该把坏牙拔了

结果在这里说个同事听,他们好象都不拔的,而是各种不同的BLABLA, 我也搞不清爽

Did the dentist suggest extracting the tooth and getting a bridge?

They suggest keeping it.
I did the first root canal in China about 10 years ago. It was either not done throughly or not well done. Thus my endodontist suggest me having a retreatment instead of pulling it out. She think I am still young and this teeth, as time goes by, will recover after proper treatment......I will just keep my finger cross then

As I remember when I was a kid root canal was a different thing in China. At the time they just ‘killed’ the serve with some of medicated the fillings and left it there instead of taking the nerve out. I had to redo all my root canals here. To me a good dentist would try everything to save the tooth first.

Not surprising. I've gone through the same thing (redoing a root canal previously performed in China). Yes, I also think it's best to save a tooth if you can. If you pull it, the only options are a bridge or an implant. Neither is good. Both very expensive.

I was originally thinking pull both of them out -- since this one is not the innest one, the innest one also needed to be pull out. And perform the same on the other side~~~

I was joking anyway, as we recently discussed whether pulling out teeth will make your face smaller. As Yishu always described her main female character, 巴掌大的小脸

我的大牙根管在找到现在这个牙医之前做坏了一颗，牙根裂了，牙床骨因为长期发炎烂掉，现在不得不拔掉，补骨头，然后植牙，全部自己掏。不过想想岛上有很多人的一个月房租是这颗牙的钱，我还是挺平衡的。

A couple of years ago I read about dental research at some laboratory in which they were trying to grow teetch from something like stem cells. I am still craning my neck to see when the technology will arrive!!! That would seriously EXTEND MY LIFE.

That's OK. I can go to India and get my tooth for a fraction of the cost anyway.

I heard a report on NPR a few weeks ago -- this person went to India to get a heart surgery for $20,000 or some ridiculously small amount. The wife testified at a Congressional committee and said the quality and service of the medical care was vastly better than any hospital she encountered in the US.
