:hum:

====================================

后来买了memory foam(Tempurpedic是这种材料吧?)

I remember HaoQing is the expert about buying mattress in the States. :-)

I use Beauty Rest from Simmons and so far no complains.

I have been sleeping on my NovaFoam for almost two years now and I like it. My pillows are also foam ones

This might be too low-end for you, but some mattresses from Ikea ain't bad. A friend of mine got something nofrills in the $300-$400 range, and it seems to work just fine. A little firm, but not too hard.

Also you can look into highend futon mattresses. They work well with platform bed, and they are easy to care for. The good one is filled with layers of wool inside. Quite structured stuff.

How did your mattress got lost during moving? It's quite a huge thing.

Hehe, sorry I was being ambiguous again. We had to give away much furniture, beds and mattresses included, during a few rounds of moving from big to small to big to small apartments.

Oh, that makes perfect sense now. I was thinking, I have heard many things gotten lost during moving, but this is the first time I heard someone lost her mattress. :-D

Good furnitures are so much cheaper in Europe. Many things are about half the price you pay in US. Next time I make it over there, I am seriously considering buying some and have them shipped back in a container.

I also heard nice things about highend mattress stuffed with wool. but the memory foam testimony sounded really tempting :" I slept so well that I woke second day in exactly same position"

we bought our mattress from Costco, not bad  (I think you can return it if you don't like it because you can almost return anything at costco)
I've used some kind of memory foam pillow when I couldn't sleep duing my early pregnancy more than 3 years ago, it didn't help at all (maybe it was hormone that time :headscratch: )

this statement is misleading. if whoever claimed eactly same position meant he/she did not shift position at all the whole night, parts of his/her circulation would be seriously cut off, and he/she would woke up limping or completely numb on one side

I spent $2000 on my current mattress and I am quite satisfied with it. But now reading all this information about memory foam, I am tempted. :-(

I probably need to give up a mattress set too when we move again in a couple of months. We have given up quite a bit furniture and house furnishing. And those that stay got damaged, deteriorated or simply lost during rounds of moving. It doesn't help that people send me large frames as gifts! No more new furniture or even small pieces of decoration until we settle down.

yeah, we got our Sealy mattress from Costco.com and it was about $800 for a King size set. Pretty firm, not bad, not bad.

That's too much work..
I wanted to buy a Novafoam in Costco, but they ask for a membership or 5% surcharge. 5% of that mattress is more than the annual membership fee! :confused007: I am so torn. Should I buy a membership? Maybe I can get a friend who has membership to buy me one? I just hate to join a store that is not within walk distance from my apartment!

Which one did you buy? From USA's Costco site, there are two collections. The choice with Canadian Costco is much less.

Let me know how it works out. If it is good, I would like to buy one too.

I am surprised the NovaFoam mattress and pillow actually are much cheaper than top spring mattress and good quality down pillows. I will go to local Costco to buy a pillow first. :-)

Atiti, if your back hurts while sleeping, try using a body pillow. It's a long pillow. When you sleep on the side, put it between your knees so that your back muscle is not strained.
