I know this is sad but somehow a little funny too.

Warren and Pam Adams lost a house to Hurricane Rita in 2005, so it seems they'd be relieved to learn their new home withstood Hurricane Ike.

I was at this conference in Colorado. There was only one student from Texas because he took the earliest flight out on Friday and escaped the hurricane. All other students and professors were trapped in Houston and missed the conference.

He had to do all his laundry in hotel before heading home as there was no power in Houston for two whole days... :?

No he is not... Why do you think that's my type?

Btw, I really hate these words: all-american, down-to-earth, etc. What do they mean anyway and why do I care if you can fly or not?

? huh? Who said anything about type? how self-centered are you? I was just thinking, the poor guy is stranded in the hotel with no friends and family, not even another Texan, and he could really use some company when doing laundry .

Well he could, but you don't have to bring up the "hottie" card. I do have empathy, okay?

Now you make me look and feel like a bad guy... Bad Knowing

Y. Maybe people just go to the beaches instead?

I think it is common at ski resorts too, including those in California. Not sure about non-ski season though.
