This really sounds like a joke. But it is true? I am too old...

Apparently they were doing pretty well. I just think the whole thing is such a joke.
And their bags are not that pretty. In fact, most are ugly logo bags. It is the kind of bag that does nothing but making a statement :" Oh Look, I have an LV/Gucci/Fendi bag!"

well, whenever I see a LV bag now, I think: hmm, $20 from chinatown;
now, you are telling me prada bags are up for rent....
ah, I have no respect for expensive handbags any more

I never had repect for a bag, and I won't respect someone just for the sake of the designer bag she's carrying. I have more respect for rich and tasteful people carrying subtle and understated nice bags.

how about the money that pay for those designer bags? :-D

What do you mean by "not any more"?

I have to say it is a creative idea, making money out of some people’s superficialness, why not?!

Has anyone seen <Catwomen>?
Basic plot is Sharon Stone is launching a new facial cream that will turn your skin into living marble, but if you stop using it, your skin will completely shatter. And Catwomen, of cause, while Spiderman and Superman are saving the world, is fighting against evil makeup Tycoon to save all women's skin from this evil addictive product.
The sad thing is, I bet, if this cream actually exists, all those superficial women will kill and steal to get one. And there will be a highly profitable black market for it.

something like that probably already exists, like the 'holy water' from SK-II, just less evil. sometimes all it takes is just a little bit of common sense.[/list]

I think there is some truth in there.

Generally speaking, using any products from SK-II is like skin suicide......or exchange your health for something magic but evil

Wha! Is Sk-II that bad? Good thing I could not get any in US, otherwise I would have tried some.

I don't know how bad it is. I just know it is not as good as it claims to be( well, just like every other skin care product I guess). I have tried. In Toronto, SK-II is sold in most of the Chinese shopping malls. You could also order it online. In Canada you have to pay the sales tax when you pick it up at the post office.

saks carry SKII now. i have no idea what that magic ingredient pitera really does, but from people's descriptions i think it's just some sort of chemical exfoliant. most people in china don't use chemical exfoliants like BHA, so any product that does it is bound to make a difference and get people hooked.
