A short stroll down the Chinatown square in search of the named brand mooncake led me to this restruant classy named 鹿鼎记饭厅, which blend pretty well with its x记 & y记 neighbors.

And gilded for all to see is a keen translation:
THE SEVEN WIVES RESTURANT.

With inappropriate sense of humour, I would wonder if they serve 7 wives on the menu or if clients are only allowed to enter when escorted by 7 wives?

The Chinese name is 鹿鼎记., gilded in gold.

I was just commenting to someone the English name better not be Deer in Wok, when I see that the owner has truely read the book.

Last time I heard, someone really WAS working on a translation. Not sure if he has completed it. The title is The Deer Cauldron.
