Most of us who are sitting here talking about the world and the meritocracy for people to get ahead, you know, we think hey, we worked hard, we got there. If you start to think about the people who are working harder than ... I, for instance ... and start to think that they have real intelligence and real moral judgments, [and] are extraordinary people in many, many ways, then you have to say, 'Gosh, did I really deserve to get here?' Or maybe there are some things at work in deciding who gets to be society's winners and who gets to be society's losers that don't have to do with merit.

it's not a matter of who derserving what, it's a matter of who his/her dad/mom is

Obvious, isn't it? Then why do I hear "I got here because I am smart and I worked hard" everywhere I turn?

Obviously we all believe we are working hard while poor people are just chilling out in their safety net.

Doesn't prove the people richer and more powerful than you are smarter than you or work harder than you.

Maybe I just need to stew in this sadness for a little bit.

你说为啥Facebook的程序员就deserve to be multi-millionaire呢?
