昨天晚上在东村吃了饭,想叫个冰淇淋没叫到,胃里装甜点的那些缝隙上上下下,不得安静。朋友说,正好带你去个好地方--甜点吧。就在两条街外,十街和二大道角上,非常小,玻璃门内一览无余,一半是吧台,另一半几个小桌子和沙发。主人叫Chika, 五十多岁的日裔妇女,在吧台后面忙着切切洗洗做东西。另一个主人兼酒师Don 是个黑大汉,笑容可掬的迎上来招呼我们坐下,
我叫了个Coconut Panna Cotta with basil icecream and tropical fruit salad. Panna Cotta 介乎布丁和果冻之间,奶油,椰子味都很足而不腻,轻滑适口。九层塔冰淇淋清香爽口,配奶味重的Panna Cotta 真是妙极。热带水果色拉是精致的菠萝丁和芒果丁拌绿色的小籽,酸而香,我尝不出是甚么,猜是密猴桃籽,问chika 答是九层塔籽。朋友的strawberry parfait 也好吃,不过草莓就是草莓,没我的新鲜有趣。垫的一种柠檬水者哩非常好,冻到半流动,里面还有气泡,在舌头上刚融化尝到酸甜,就轻轻霹雳啪啦,小小的轰炸味蕾一下。

他们的甜酒选择也挺多,我们没甚么兴趣。看了周围一眼,几乎全是女孩子,少数几个男人都在喝酒 ---嗯,知道,他们觉得吃甜点是太娘娘腔的事,又不能干坐着。 :twisted:

Be a tourist then. Fly in this weekend and indulge yourself, pick up some hot marines, eat a lot of dessert -- New Yorkers are all out of the town this weekend and someone has to do it.

It is actually a surprisingly cheap date, prefix menu, Amuse, Choice of Dessert, and Petit Fours for $12. Small quantity, of cause. But it is truly amazing dessert, the kind you get in a top restaurant lucky enough to have a creative dessert chef. In fact, Chika worked in Gramercy Tavern before starting this.
