true, and so do I, after your recommendation. But you and I add up to $20 box office. Unfortunately, she is not writing books or making home video. Movies cost money to make, quite a high risk investment, so an Oscar will be very helpful to her. So no matter overrated or not, Oscar's importance is not overrated.

我看了小K的话，深深觉得Oscar跟Nobel有共通之处阿。

其实奥斯卡奖也没那么有用，得完奖之后，跟过去没啥两样，以后拍小众片儿找钱未必更容易。这年头没什么公司愿意为了得奖作品而投资，而是有票房号召力才投资，所以象 Michael Bay, Jerry Bruckheimer 一辈子半个奖也沾不上都从来不用愁钱。

诺贝尔么，等到得上了奖，早就功成名就不用去拉 grants 了，所以其实作用也未必很大 ...

但是得了奖能带来票房，至少比原来看的人多点。小众片投资少，这本挣了钱下本就有人投资。她也不用等七年拍一个片子了，想提携那个有灵魂的年轻帅哥记者作家都行。
