First of all, there is nothing wrong with, uh, "primitive."

Second, yes, we all know Don's problems cannot be cured by a devoted sex kitten. If he had chosen the road to better mental health (i.e., Dr. Faye), we would not have any drama left for seasons 5 and 6, would we?

Third, in real life, lots of people run away from their problems with distractions rather than confronting and trying to solve their problems. It's not unrealistic.

I can imagine it is frustrating to be Megan. Don has everything, yet he is so unhappy, and she is powerless about it.

I understand xiaoxixi's disgust with Don Draper. He really is a very annoying prick. But it makes for good drama.

Megan is so young and so fresh, she doesn't know what a lousy feeling 'powerless' is, YET.
Terry Gross went on a good 5 minutes how she was disappointed Don picked Megan over Dr Miller. Matthew Weiner went 'yah yah yah but wouldn't it be nice if we always choose what is good for us"

还没看新一季，忘了

我也不太能接受Megan这段，不是因为她不适合Don或不能使Don和她自己幸福，而是太突然了，不make sense. 也许是铺垫不够，我感觉连Don自己都并没有被convince，剧本这么编了，他就只好求婚。Joan的结婚对象也是非常差的选择，但自然得多。

Keep in mind that Don Draper does not have a healthy and normal personality to make good decisions for his life.

When Don married Megan in the last season finale, it was a shock to everyone. Looking back from the view of Season 5, episode 1, however, I have to say I think I know why. But I'm reluctant to explain it in depth, because it would seem to suggest that I'm kind of screwed up in the mind, though not as bad as Don Draper is.

Well, I can totally see why Don purposed to Megan -- It was even though a shock, quite typical Don compulsive behaviour. Also Megan brought in this fresh new air/hope "you can be anyone you choose to be", and Don married her because he liked the way she sees him. Our choice of companion is similar as choice of a mirror, how our companion sees us is how we want to be seen. he doesn't want to see the broken, burdened, drunk image of himself, so by rejecting Dr Miller he smashed the honest mirror.
Have to admit I love Megan's outfit and make up! so much more exciting than Betty Draper

yeah, UK Mad Men is very behind US schedule, but I managed to keep up via ITUNE, they put new episode up the second day.
Well, Mad Men last Sunday and Game Of Thrones this Sunday, I try to focus on the positive aspect of living in the States.

说起来，betty 一直是30刚出头的模样，don 已经40。megan 才26，跟betty 的差距都在衣着打扮上。这集来了几个小胖妞，马上看出十几岁跟26还是很有区别的。
betty 也是挺可怜的。

昨天mad men 里讽刺英国人来了美国不肯走，但是努力把英国的文化都搬过来(看rugby 弄花园种菜），就想起现在麻将男跟我一凑到一起就抱怨美国新闻不如BBC，美国的医疗保险制度有多可怕比英国差远了。

peggy 不算倒霉，我觉得她的生活蛮不错的，在公司已经挺有权势的了，对客户发脾气没有被解雇的危险，出门乱搞，回家还有随叫随到的温柔beta 男。
roger 老婆的烦恼是典型的奖杯太太烦恼，痛苦是真实的，就是没意思，what's new anyway..
Megan 比我预料的有灵魂，以前小看她了。

megan 跟jane 一样就没意思了。是我先入为主小看了她，想来也对，剧组怎么肯对don 这么坏，轻易配个roger 的命运给他。
roger 现在是没有钱了，再离一次被剥干为止。
peggy这条线埋的很深啊。如果不是peggy 而是一个男人在don 手下，按现在don 的状态，早落到roger 的地步，被底下人抢走风头。因为peggy 是个女人，才会出不了头，don 还能继续当老大,才那么松懈.这个jewish boy 就不会那么好弄。

Don 这一季都很 tense 的样子，好像在努力地开始新生活，努力地跟上 Megan 年轻朝气的脚步，有点象 Betty 崩溃之前那种竭力维持正常的假象那种僵硬感，我看他很快就要塌下来了。

六十年代人生命好象比我们现在短很多？don 刚peak 没几年就开始走下坡路了？现在的男人生活上来说，从大学毕业一直玩到晚三十都算是青春期，事业上是三十五到四十五之间peak.

No way! Weiner has signed 3 seasons with AMC. Mad Men will run through and end the series by season 7. Don will stay alive, of course, until then.

Don Draper needs someone to save him, but Anna is now dead. He needs Dr. Miller or another woman who refuses to be fooled by his shit.

Nobody writes like GRRM. Besides, Tyrion is still alive, isn't he?

這一季好象把每個角色都推向極端似的，眾人都好像迫不及待要make a statement, 很末世感，看得好爽！Don 那場elevator scene，看得心沉了一下，然後想想都續約了，就放下心來。

MEGAN应该是个升级版的Betty, 家庭出身没那么虚伪，女演员也比女模特高级。她应对Betty通过Sally的挑衅还是很恰当的，彻底收服了Don和女儿。Don对她忠心耿耿，紧压抑着自己不出轨，到声色场所都避嫌，不知道能挺多久。

Don的创造力好像跟他的外遇成正比，前段时间做忠诚的丈夫写不出东西来，现在重振雄风，外遇也快来了吧？

本季大概会死一个重要人物，现在外面的猜测基本上集中在 Pete 身上。

Megan 是 Betty 的翻版是 Joan 的理论，但是 Peggy 不这么认为。Megan 是热的，Betty 是冷的，但是两人都拯救不了 Don。

我这两个星期都还没看。Megan 的角色很精妙。她最开始也有野心所以提出去创作组，可是一屋子底层一心往上爬的年轻人里，她嫁了富人格格不入。她也的确没必要那么吃苦。她从来都跟着Don 同出同进，迟到早退。大家都加班当然不会把她当自己人。她就是在生日会上活色生香的老板的老婆。Betty 也曾想过回去做模特，结果发现人家给她工作完全是看她老公的面子，她又没必要苦哈哈地熬，立马就回家了。Megan 面临一模一样的问题女演员的竞争并不比模特少，她凭什么苦熬呢。她身上看不到其他同仁身上的饥渴。在广告公司的小成功，Peggy 会兴奋不已，会去为自己争取，Megan 装都装不出高兴来，她在晚餐会上力挽狂澜救回客户根本不是为自己，是作为Don 的妻子的举动，所以推着Don 说，自己毫不在意一点功劳。Don 能不乱搞跟Megan 跟他24小时同出同进有巨大的关系。这下他再不用为电梯里碰到老相好而尴尬了，他明明就是在奋力抗拒欲望。Megan 的晚归更给了他机会，反正他现在已经不用努力工作了，闲着。

再说家庭，Betty 和Megan 的父母都瞧不起Don，Betty家因为Don 暴发，Meggan 家表面上是马克思主义者嫌Don没灵魂，其实不也是嫌他暴发只有钱又有名。挑唆着女儿你现在的生活不够好。我不觉得Megan 比betty 升级，只是更年轻新鲜时髦，新瓶装旧酒，Don在同一个圈子里打转。除非他俩离婚Megan 很可能是下一个Betty。只不过从郊区主妇变成城里名媛。不仅Joan 这样想。Peggy 对Megan的形容：她是那种女孩，什么都好什么都有。Betty年轻的时候一定也是同样被不那么美的同性评价。Megan长得比Betty还差多了。

Betty 就是被供着的花瓶，拿出去给老公挣个面子。Megan 活色生香，放在家里也有点意思。但是她和 Don 互相不理解，只是肉体吸引而没有共同语言。如果换个心智正常点的男人会是很好的搭档，但是 Don 不是个心智正常的男人啊。我很姐妹团地说，看看 Betty 跟 Henry 不还是挺恩爱的么？不是女人的问题而是 Don 这个人的问题！Don 有一些 self-destructive 和 masochist 倾向，Megan 现在逗着他跟他玩点游戏，肯定不能长久，因为 Megan 不是天然的 dominatrix。

OMG，第十集里 Joan 光彩照人，果然她才是 Matt Weiner 最爱的女神，最好的对话都留给她了。

"I bet she's not ugly. The only sin she's ever committed is being familiar."
"So you think it's all him."
"Because she can't give him what he wants?"
"Because he doesn't know what he wants, but he's wanting..."
"He knows. Just the way he is. And maybe it's just the way she is."

AAAHHHHH SO GOOD!

Why do you believe Don will eventually commit suicide? A lot of people believe Pete will. Hmm...

I think Don will go back to Faye Miller.
