和伦敦渊源最深的经典作家，我首先想到的是Charles Dickens，果然他的主题出现在两张椅子上。其次是Oscar Wilde，有趣的是项目组给艺术家推荐的书目中的Wilde是The Picture of Dorian Grey，最终被选中的是The Importance of Being Earnest。
哈里波特则完全不见影踪。九又四分之三站台，Diagon Alley呢？可能艺术家们觉得哈里波特不需要他们帮着宣传。书椅里与伦敦关系比较牵强的至少有Narnia和Pride & Prejudice。Narnia椅的画我喜欢，P&P则很一般，李子的面孔就是95版演员的芳容嘛。项目组推荐的Bernard Shaw的Pygmalian（My Fair Lady），和Graham Greene的The End of the Affair很合我的心意，但未受艺术家垂青。写当代伦敦的小说出现的有Brick Lane和Bridget Jones's Diary，建议书单里还有Martin Amis的London Fields，Zadie Smith 的White Teeth，Sebastian Faulks的A Week in December，和Ben Aaranovich的Rivers of London系列。
