1? Didn't you revise the abstract into the tight final version?
Abstracts are like that. They have to be extremely concise by definition. Don't beat yourself up. Achieving this is the most difficult thing in writing and takes a lot of work. Trust me, most scientists can't do it.
Easy reading is damned hard writing. Some famous writer said that (Mark Twain?).
Actually, the only way to have a concise and precise piece of writing is to edit it repeatedly, relentless, and mercilessly. One has to be able to look at one's own work with a critical eye. (As you can see, I can't do it either; but that's what I was taught.)
