干掉 EPA，干掉教育部，干掉各种监管部门，经常会有农村红州的众议员提出来，尤其是以 Libertarian 理念竞选上台的，一般是通不过的。反正我从来没听说过哪个联邦部门被干掉了，出了事儿谁负责？即使是茶党群众也很怕死的。

House of Representatives 一共有435个众议院，任期两年，每个选区人数不算很多，所以经常上些乱七八糟的议员。提出议案经常是发个声，向本地人民表示一下 I'm doing my job. 而已。

这个我信。Carl's Jr. 连锁店在南加州非常依赖非法移民劳工，实际上加州经济里有巨大一部分依赖非法劳工。

移民的问题其实不是一个党派之争。在 Reagan 到 Bush 2 的时代，共和党比较支持移民，因为他们的金主是大公司，移民可以降低人力成本。而民主党比较反对移民，因为他们的基层选民是工会，而工会非常反对来自移民的竞争。而来自墨西哥及中美洲的非法移民，不直接跟工人竞争也不影响到大公司经营，所以根本没人在意。支持非法移民的团体是小业主，很依赖他们提供的极低劳工成本，所以加州和其他边境州的政府对于非法移民一直采取睁眼闭眼的态度，这并不是因为加州的白左民主党是圣母婊，都是真金白银的好处。

为什么现在忽然群情激愤掀起反移民狂潮了呢？这是一个渐进的过程。

共和党在过去一些年里开始从大财团转向底层白人，开头只是利用他们的选票，渐渐被这条路线控制，到 Obama 上台之后被 ... 想来想去找不出一个委婉又合适的替代词，只能直说 racists 了，就是种族主义基层力量大规模占领，传统共和党上层与基层 racists 之间眉来眼去，越走越近，最后拆也拆不开。所以，十年前多数共和党议员是很想弄一套 comprehensive immigration reform 法案的，但是党内对于移民的态度越来越白，所以怎么也搞不成，这完全是党内的冲突而跟民主党无关。民主党内部也面对中西部白人工人反对移民，而两岸选民支持移民的内部冲突。

住在阿拉巴马的白人群众，本来根本没想过加州农田里的墨西哥 migrant workers，但是 Obama 推出了 Dreamer Act 豁免非法移民子女后，这就变成了原则斗争，而不是实际的移民问题。对于 Obama 的憎恨导致自身未受移民影响的共和党选民把非法移民当成发泄情绪的符号。当然，在各阶层都因为经济结构变化而担心未来的时候，任何东西都可以变成暴民的靶子，非法移民实在是现成的借口而已。因为种族主义越来越占领共和党主流，原来的经济/非党派问题，只有在过去几年内才发展成为党派之分。I am no fan of GOP, but I have to say they weren't like this most of the time.

现在反非法移民的狂潮已经开始行动，很快加州与德州的农业、餐饮业、低成本小业主就会感受到压力了。建议住在加州的同学注意一下超市里水果的价格在未来一年内有什么变化。

这些事儿跟我认识的华人讲他们也听不进去，太复杂了，跟他们的思路不符合，随口发句牢骚。

我一点都没喜感。我最近挺发愁的。我觉得好多这边的中国人都从微信读新闻。我和朋友都尽量不聊政治，偶尔讲起来，就觉得很挫败，即使不支持trump的，也好多支持muslim ban, 或是觉得sanctuary city就是保护罪犯，... 我觉得这应该不是只是我认得的人的想法，我怀疑这也不限于华人圈，虽然我看到的媒体新闻大多是反对这些的。

没关系。加州的农产品占美国农产品产量的70%，全美人民都可以意志坚定地吃工业生产的垃圾食品或者进口蔬菜水果呗。反正eat local这种何不食肉糜的说法也是加州人整出来的。正好重振被美国工业化农业摧毁的墨西哥农业！Make Mexico Great Again! 为此失去工作的美国人可以去墨西哥农场打工啊。加州还有一部分农产品比如大杏仁，葡萄酒都是出口换外汇的，也别用本地水换美元给联邦交税了。少点农业用水，我们正好居民可以多用点。

More than a month after Russia announced one of its biggest privatizations since the 1990s, selling a 19.5 percent stake in its giant oil company Rosneft, it still isn't possible to determine from public records the full identities of those who bought it.

The stake was sold for 10.2 billion euros to a Singapore investment vehicle that Rosneft said was a 50/50 joint venture between Qatar and the Swiss oil trading firm Glencore.

Unveiling the deal at a televised meeting with Rosneft's boss Igor Sechin on Dec. 7, President Vladimir Putin called it a sign of international faith in Russia, despite U.S. and EU financial sanctions on Russian firms including Rosneft.

It is the largest privatization deal, the largest sale and acquisition in the global oil and gas sector in 2016," Putin said.

It was also one of the biggest transfers of state property into private hands since the early post-Soviet years, when allies of President Boris Yeltsin took control of state firms and became billionaires overnight.

But important facts about the deal either have not been disclosed, cannot be determined solely from public records, or appear to contradict the straightforward official account of the stake being split 50/50 by Glencore and the Qataris.

In addition, public records show the ownership structure of the stake ultimately includes a Cayman Islands company whose beneficial owners cannot be traced.

On Wednesday, Reuters reported (in great detail) how 19.5% of Rosneft, Russia’s state oil company, has been sold to parties unknown. This was done through a dizzying array of shell companies, so that the most that can be said with certainty now is that the money “paying” for it was originally loaned out to the shell layers by VTB (the government’s official bank), even though it’s highly unclear who, if anyone, would be paying that loan back; and the recipients have been traced as far as some Cayman Islands shell companies.
Why is this interesting? Because the much-maligned Steele Dossier (the one with the golden showers in it) included the statement that Putin had offered Trump 19% of Rosneft if he became president and removed sanctions. The reason this is so interesting is that the dossier said this in July, and the sale didn’t happen until early December. And 19.5% sounds an awful lot like “19% plus a brokerage commission.”
Conclusive? No. But it raises some very interesting questions for journalists to investigate.

主角换成那几个人，事情会做得很漂亮，根本没人能摸得到门。你以为布什家族跟沙特王族是什么关系？比如 Dick Cheney 与 Halliburton. 不是没有人好奇啊，但是有把柄被抓到吗？我相信他们这些交易最后都是合法的，即使拿出来也不能怎样。川普不是真正的贵族阶层，做不好这些真贵族的游戏，急赤白脸的裸卖。

Me: Do other current and former Republican members of Congress feel like you do?
He: Lots of them. They think Trump’s loony tunes, and he’s in Putin’s pocket.
Me: Well why the hell don’t they say something? As long as this looks like a partisan brawl we’re never going to get anywhere.
He: No one wants to be the first. They worry Trump will start tweeting on them, or his crazy-ass supporters at home will go after them.
Me: Then why not issue a joint statement? A bunch of Republicans could call for a Select Committee to look into all of this, a special prosecutor. There's safety in numbers.
He: A few of them are talking about it right now, but McConnell and Ryan don’t want to rock the boat. They want to focus on repealing Obamacare, getting a giant tax cut, wiping out environmental regulations, you know the drill.
Me: But don’t they know the Trump issues are just going to get worse? Republicans need to get ahead of this or they’ll get bulldozed by it.
He: McConnell and Ryan don’t see it that way. They figure Trump will continue his circus act, stirring up the press, driving everyone crazy. So they can quietly work with Pence and get their agenda through when no one is paying much attention.
Me: You mean Trump is a decoy?
He (chuckling): Yeah. At least for now.

), I kind of want Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell to succeed. Donald Trump is too stupid and incompetent to get anything big done. So he is unlikely to screw up the economy and infrastructure sufficiently to make the people in middle America to hurt --- I mean really, really hurt. To truly and significantly damage the livelihood of middle America, you need smart and competent politicians like Ryan and McConnell (or Dick Cheney, for example).

如果川普略微正常一点，能力略微有一点，纳粹大革命大概就已经成功了。

另外有报道说Hayward 婉拒国安顾问这个题名的原因是他跟川皇提了两个要求，1)自己有权任免自己的手下，2) bannon 不能干预他做事。川皇不答应，所以他当然不要干。现在 Tillerson 就是一个光杆司令，没有自己的心腹, 自己也给隔在白宫圈外，两眼一抹黑。Pence 还可以跟 GOP 悄悄鼓捣点阴谋，这些内阁成员根本都只是挂名而已。。。

看到推上有很多文艺人士在抱怨新政府要砍掉 National Endowment for the Arts 的拨款，其实省下来的那点钱还不够塞川普的 secret service 加班费。Anyway, 共和党要砍掉文艺资金已经很多很多年了，因为搞文艺的多半是自由派，还老跟保守派作对，赶紧死啦死啦滴。

让我觉得好笑的是，过几年真~工作都被机器抢走了，剩下人能干的工作就大半是文艺创作了。真讽刺。

由于川普的支持者热衷于自行提取中心思想，再加上中国特殊的国情，在中文社区造就了更加神奇的景象。有一部分人一辈子都没有来过美国，甚至英语都不会说，但无论如何都会坚持川普版“两个凡是”。川普说过“Chinese are smart and tremendous people”，于是中心思想就是川普绝对会对华友好。川普要对中国加征45%的关税，于是便出现了“转型升级肯定是需要外力推一把的”的言论。川普说要重新审视一个中国原则，于是“川普是为了给中国提供机会彻底解决此事，不像以前还要私下对台军售。”川普又说要尊重一个中国原则，于是“川普在中国问题上变为现实主义只用了两周，而有的总统一辈子也学不会”。川普要遣返非法移民，于是“华人是模范移民，我们绝对会受益”。当川普要改革H1B，“川普是为了打击印度人滥用，我们绝对会受益”。当有白宫消息说希望缩小合法移民规模提高签证签发的收入门槛，“川普还是为了打击印度外包公司，我们中国人工资这么高怎么可能受影响。”当川普和蔡英文通了电话，川普的中国支持者便成了“当初谁也没有认为川普会对中国友好，我们只是判断他会赢而已。况且中国需要一个值得尊敬的强大的对手。”更搞笑的是，川普的就职演说中出现了“people, campaign”这种美国政治中天天用的词，被几个微博大V翻译成了“人民、运动”这种中式词语，然后说川普就是XX思想的继承人，还要心里暗爽地玩一把老式相声里老子儿子的梗。

我前几天看个舞台剧--Tom Stoppard 主演一站期间英国驻瑞士使馆的小官僚，跟詹姆斯乔爱斯，达达主义传世人，列宁都认识，结合王尔德喜剧importance of being earnest , 很搞笑的。里面列宁发表讲话，大谈class warfare, 我突然醒悟这不就是阶级斗争么？然后好多别的话我也马上可以翻译成中文，有一种神奇的熟悉感！
