急问,美国有没有什么抗肺癌新药?
是小细胞癌症,3A期,首次化疗后出现反复低烧。家人都十分着急,请问美国有什么新药么?
Roche/Genentech's Avastin is an oncology star, however I understand its indication for Lung cancer will only be non-small-cell.
Pfizer's Camptosar/Campto is working on small-cell-lung cancer PIII (will be in market 06/07), currently it is already for Colorectal cancer.
Both products are in the market, you may consult your doctor for more information.
I have not heard good products succesfully marketed in this area.
(sorry for my limited knowledge

I'm sorry to say there is very limited options for treatment. Surgery and radiation may prolong survival time in SC lung cancer without metastasis, but ... If your mom is in the U.S., perhaps you can try to enroll her in a clinical trial.
2 drugs mentioned on the Web site are not very promising for SCLC.
Bevacizumab (Avastin)
Gefitinib (Iressa)

Sorry I didn't read the initial posting carefully. Fever may have been caused by infection due to chemotherapy rather than due to the cancer itself. To risk sounding morbid, I also suggest you talk to Hospice (if the patient is in the U.S.) or to the oncologist about the best option for palliative/supportive care.

猫咪头, thanks for remembering me
yeah, it was me.
Tarceva - Erlotinib, it has a label for treatment of advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) after the failure of at least one prior chemotherapy regimen, another product from Roche/Genentech. Doctors seems to be positive with the prospect of the product.
I took a look at the clinical trials that it has run, the results are kind of mixed:
1) the trial that supports its label are good (use Tarceva on patients who has previously undergone one to two chemotherapy)
2) the trial of a combination of Tarceva with chemotherapy in advanced-stage NSCLC patients was disappointing
3) Tarceva also has shown efficacy in bronchoalveolar cell carcinoma (BAC), a subtype of NSCLC
My key take-away is to use that not as a combination, but more of a monotherapy after chemotherapy.
