Creature Comforts

Post by Jun » 2007-06-18 6:13

The Gekko? I don't think that's Scottish accent at all. More like Cockney (not that I'm an expert in Cockney accent) .

Tony Blair hardly has an accent (to my ear).

Riding on the coattail of my success, may I make another recommendation?

I was in no mood to watch a long and meandering video tonight, but I had to watch "Cinema Paradiso" DVD tonight and return it tomorrow. So I paid little attention, doodled this and that, had Internet open, etc. throughout the whole time. By the end of it, however, it still made me  . Darn! Why do these Italian movies have to be so melodramatic? And why the heck does it work every time?! Geez.

The friend who recommended Cinema Paradiso said she cried like a baby watching it. A couple of others also said the same thing. I have to admit I'm not a huge fan of Italian cinema -- their exaggerated acting style and endless dialogue and non-sync sound and ... yeah, melodrama. I prefer restraint. But they just do their work on ya. What can one do?
