Allen在Washington Post里的那篇文章后半部分确实比较极端，不过我仍然觉得她嘲笑那些感情用事自以为是的女人，不是完全没有道理，当然也过火了些。而在“Martyr or Moron”里面，作者对所谓feminism的批评，有很多我都同意，比如：

首先我不知道这个到底是不是the central tenet of feminist ideology。如果是的话，不得不说我不赞成这种feminism。男女怎么会没有差别？

Gender是educated出来的，这个我信。要是不信，也就别费劲搞男女平等了。
JUN同学是说Allen是在伪装吗？就是说前半段fake似是而非的feminism，抹的黑黑的好在后半段把自己的观点sell出去？我觉得……她的头脑好像还没复杂到这种程度，要是那么精明也不会口口声声管自己叫弱者/傻子，读者难免会想你这么不自信我怎么信任你啊，当然也不排除敌人太太太狡猾的可能性。

也许她真的是这么认为的，就好象Dick Cheney真心坚信美国必须而且能够用武力在中东建立＂千秋万代一统江湖＂的帝国，但这并不等于他们在抹黑反对派的时候信口胡扯，瞎编对方的立场来蒙骗公众啊。反正电视上的秃头白人佬说话那么肯定，报纸上白纸黑字印的说法，我们伟大而正确的领导发布的消息，总归不会错的哈，谁有功夫真正花时间精力去亲自了解一下事实真相。这种手法实在也是太普遍了。为什么反堕胎权利的人管自己叫pro-life，虽然他们中不少人支持判堕胎医生死刑？因为pro-life的反面就是pro-death，gee，谁要跟pro-death baby murderer 站一队啊。既然feminists都是顽固愚蠢变态的老处女或者丑陋不正常的弯女，人民当然应该拒绝她们的一切理论喽，那么她们宣扬的男女平等的主义也是错误的喽，那么逻辑地推理下去，Charlotte Allen 同志的理论＂女人天生比男人蠢＂一定是真理喽。多么合逻辑啊。我觉得Allen是真心觉得女性这个sex很糟很weak必须投降。

要说切尼同志“真心坚信”，我还真抱着一丝怀疑，毕竟后面有利益驱动的，不是纯洁的精神追求。Allen同志可是牺牲了自己来捍卫"真理"，令我肃然起敬。
既然右派不fair play，左派也别客气，一边斗争一边想我这手段可能有点背离理念哈，这怎么能不落下风呢？看那些成功的都是激进左派。

这当然不对。奥巴马在达拉斯做宣传的时候全部是黑人球星一起做广告。德州拉丁裔非法移民那么多，同时又是南方的保守大州。奥巴马在德州赢了奥斯丁、达拉斯、休斯敦，其他的农村地区都输掉。即便是在达拉斯投票的时候也是亚裔拉丁裔投希拉里，年轻的学生们投奥巴马（跟加州一样）。南方的农民怎么可能投一个黑人的票。年轻人本来是竞选投票中的少数，这次因为奥巴马人数一下上去了。奥巴马一开始竞选的时候打种族牌看来是对的，这个问题真是成也萧何败也萧何。karen wrote:I find that hard to believe, but hey, she won. The reason that I got interested in this is that I was talking to some classmates about feminism, and they (both male and female) told me that feminism in America now means (if you want to be politically correct, or if you want to go along with the mainstream) that there really aren't differences between man and woman. On the other hand, most of them acknowledged that it was silly in saying there were no differences. But they said that they were not in the majority.
I was quite surprised by their assertion and was confused, and I am not sure what they said was true. But I also read the lecture by Larry Summers, which Jun despised so much, and did not find his "provocative" ideas much troubling. If that could cause him to lose his job, I think then maybe the mainstream feminism has gone a little bit too far.

I think one thing is clear this far into the Democratic primary race: Both Obama's and Clinton's supporters must now drop out of the race.
Hillary Clinton's supporters have gotten incredibly annoying, with their chants of "Yes She Can," and charges of cultism and their desperate yelps of schadenfreude every time Clinton looks like she might actually be "recapturing the lead" that she never had.
And Obama's supporters, yes, you too are incredibly annoying, with your accusations of Clintonian Republicanism and your whiny little cries about how you're going to take your ball and run home if your candidate doesn't win the primary.
Supporters of both candidates, please listen closely. For the good of the Party -- no, for the good of the Nation! -- the time has come for you to leave this race.

德州好象也没有因此有什么社会问题. 华州比较社会主义, 无论什么身份, 低收入都可以申请州里补贴的保险, COPAY高, 能去的诊所有限, 但有每年自费总数封顶(2500?), 防大病没什么问题, 给怀孕的福利更好些. 几年前才通过法律禁止私人保险把怀孕当PRE-EXISTING CONDITION.医院条件都不错, 收费也很合理. 有次上急诊, 不用排队, 有单间有电视, 毯子都是预热才送来. 医生检查护士吊水验血, 总共才120大元. 加州虽然有MEDICAL, 公众医疗系统压力还是很大, 服务质量也差.德州的没有医疗保险的人口比例高于全美平均，因非法移民的问题。通常我们把 Dallas 和紧邻的 Fort Worth 一起称达福地区。这里是德州北部，基本远离边境线。我记得本地新闻曾经讲过仅在 Fort Worth 的一家医院大约2001年左右出生的婴儿 70% 母亲是没有医疗保险的非法移民。
德州的教育搞的也不错. 加州真叫烂. 名校修的跟难民营一样, 没有校车接送, 教师付的工资令人发指. 我老最近读SEATTLE TIMES, 某学区已经基本上是SEATTLE最好的学区了, 还要投钱大建学校图书馆实验室. 理由是有些学校当初按加州学校标准建的房子, 质量太差, 只能坚持20年. 投票涨PROPERTY TAX. 涨多少? 中值房子原来每年3000, 打算涨20大元.
再说犯罪率, REGISTERED SEX OFFENDER, 我老原来的城市只有三个都在一个都是商业区的邮编,其他四五个都没有. 现在我住的邮编, 也算中上区,炒的火热, 二十个. 过去半年二十起入室盗窃, 感恩节就三起, 最近还捅了一个房主一刀.

德州的传统文化上喜欢特立独行的人，你们搞你们的联盟，我自己建我自己的德州共和国。到现在德州共和国的旗子在德州也挺常见地挂着，越偏远的地方越常见。关起门来成一统。现在这种文化不明显，但还是有遗迹的。像私人持枪率高自己保护自己。德州自己叫自己孤星州，（lone star/lonely star state）dallas 的 NBA球队叫 Mavericks。所以像 John McCain 这样自己拎包穷搜搜地开始竞选，挺合德州人胃口的。
德州的车牌上画着星星、月亮、仙人掌和一个孤独的牛仔，当然还没忘了在天上再加上一航天飞机。整个设计很老土，但也很传神地表达了德州人怎么看自己的。

美国的保守传统经济和新兴的冒进的新技术经济，再加上华尔街所代表的金融系统，少了哪样都无法成就美国现在的经济实力吧。所以也不能完全说谁黑谁白。加州民主党搞均贫富，地产税低，所以亚洲一些有钱人都把钱搬到加州来炒房，造成本地人买不起房子。德州保守，大口岸只有休斯敦。高昂的地产税完全用于地区的包括学校在内的公共建设。（德州的总体城建的确比其他州好一些）这首先抑制了炒房，并且用钱把穷人富人严格分开。公交系统几近没有，城市道路设计不考虑行人。的确路上根本罕见行人。城市的尺寸又大，南边的穷人根本很难到达北边好的区。而在一个城市内部富人多的地方，油价要比穷人多的地方便宜。（因为用油多？）加州的经济有年轻人的爆发力的感觉。德州是老年派的。有钱人有很强的传统老派习惯。少了哪样大概都不能持久保持一个国家的经济优势，也很难说哪种更好。
