这跟中国政府有什么关系呢？
苏丹有石油。中国政府－－准确的说是国企，中石油和中石化，在那边投了很多钱基础建设开发。石油还都在南边。基础建设又不能打个包就走。要是SPLA 过来毁了，中国国企们就亏死了。所以中国政府也不希望苏丹政府失去对那边的控制论。这些石油钱同时被苏丹政府拿去武装部队。
达尔富尔基本在苏丹西部，南达尔富尔有石油。苏丹政府把开发权给中石油了。也不能不给，美国石油公司都撤了。。
Spielberg嘛，典型一美国人，干什么事都出于自己的道德立场，完全不想这招对中国政府管不管用。当然他也不在乎，就是要要表明一下道德立场。就跟广电部封杀汤唯一样－－封不封的了是一码事，老子就是看不惯你那嚣张样子！

Hmm. Here I'm thinking maybe Spielberg is having second thoughts about being able to do the Oly ceremony well and please all sides, including his Hollywood and Israeli friends. well of course you can say it's double standards blah blah, but darfur touches many different constituencies that can picture it in the light of racial or religious justice. there's also the guilt from not stopping the hutu/tusi genocide a decade ago. a lot of the pressure comes not directly from administration officials but from NGOs, investor groups, states, etc.

Xinjiang crackdowns target Islamic militants or factions, which kind of shuts the American government up. But the Sudan issue is the opposite. The government is Islamic, but the rebels/Southern Sudanese side is not. If China claimed it's helping the Sudanese government on anti-terrorism efforts, it would be either laughed out of the room or incite a huge amount of anger from the West.
