Say, Comrade Sun, what kind of men do you like?
(Everyone knows what I like by now.)

Comrade Mars is right --- Money speaks louder than most qualities, but is not engouh as the only quality for some (relatively young and still good-looking) women.

One simple and perhaps most important assurance of a guy's masculinity is his attraction for the girls, i.e. his healthy, strong body, his mental toughness and courage, his ability to lead, to help, to protect, to entertain... I know this sounds cheesy and totally male-chauvinism but even most gay guys cannot help it... They tend to act more "masculine" around girls and see their charm for girls as a proof that they are indeed attractive-- although they might not be that aggressive like straight guys after all.Jun wrote:What do you care about what turns women on?
I'm just giving a gay guy's point of view. Pardon me for the cavalier attitude if there's any. I do care.

Violent delights.
Thank you for clarifying an important confusion that I've had for a long time! I think you meant "his attractiveness to women." That mades a huge chunk of sense. A man's position in the social hierarchy is defined by how competitively strong he is, and obviously his sexual power over women is a part of it. A similar measurement is how desirable his mate is --- how beautiful the girl on his arm is and how much he is other men's envy. It is a key understanding that I didn't get until you explained it. Very nice, comrade. One simple and perhaps most important assurance of a guy's masculinity is his attraction for the girls
Of course, similar competition and hierarchy exist among women -- the more desirable one is to men, the more respected, admired, and envied she is. Same phenomenon.
Another hypothesis that I've been toying with is that the underlying mechanism of male homosexuality, to a less than all-out degree, contributes to a man's sexual attractiveness to women. Women do not go for all testosterone machoness, but a blend of "soft" and "hard" qualities. I almost believe that some of the genetic "soft" qualities enhance a man's mating success, and only when these qualities go over a certain level that he becomes more attracted to men than to women.

Your other point is also spot on. At least I totally agree with it.

Wow, this is totally new to me! You are saying that even when a man only fancies other men, even when he has zero sexual interests in women, he still wants to be perceived as attractive to women because that reflects upon his desirability? Hmm... I guess that makes sense. Being deemed desirable by the opposite sex is universally sought-after, like being pretty and being rich. It's always good, no matter what you intend to do in life.

There is something confusing here. What is the "underlying mechanism of male homosexuality"? By "soft" do you mean sensitivity? And are you equating sensitivity with homosexuality?Another hypothesis that I've been toying with is that the underlying mechanism of male homosexuality, to a less than all-out degree, contributes to a man's sexual attractiveness to women. There is something confusing here. What is the "underlying mechanism of male homosexuality"? By "soft" do you mean sensitivity? And are you equating sensitivity with homosexuality?

Isn't he adorable?
