问题:怎么做干月桂叶?

去店里买bay leaves 做汤用,发现干的比鲜的贵,就干脆买了盒鲜的回来。但是做汤只用了两片,剩下的不知该怎么办.上网查说用重东西压着弄干,可是是怎么弄干呢?象做树叶书签似的夹在纸巾中间压上重物自然阴干?还是放到微波炉里快速烤干?谁有经验?
顺便,新鲜的thyme 除了冰冰箱里还有保存办法么?

我乱猜:
1 应该像作干花一样,放在书里压干;
2 象保存香菜一样,保鲜饭盒里放些水,再放冰箱。
如果常作菜,可以自己种BASIL和THEME,一小盆一小盆的放在窗台前面,想吃现摘。

我和原来的roommate种过无数回basil 和 rosemary , 都死了。那还是有朝南的大阳台的时候。现在窗子朝北,就更不用说了。
压干不会走失香味么?

种过mint没?看阿泰斗小说的时候兼习来的一点点园艺就是mint非常的容易活,根儿连根儿的还。

Fresh bay leaves can impart a slightly bitter flavour, so this is a herb which is far better used dried. To dry them is easy: just hang a branch in an airy spot and the leaves will dry in a couple of weeks.

我在home depot一刀多买的basil花盆今天也发芽了,上个星期浸在厨房的水池子里一夜,lalala :lol:

真的?听的心痒痒。自己种盆嫩basil , 吃色拉时摘些放在上面,多好。要不我再糟蹋一盆?

嗯,最近阳光真得很充足。说明上说浸完水后7到28天发芽,没想到4天而已。
这种包装好的kit,肯定催肥很足,后劲不续,吃三五十片叶子半年一换也捞回本了啊。

干月桂叶据化工说是普通摊开晒干就可以,或者象我是一枝一枝地倒挂在通风阴凉的地方,过两天就自然干了。
BASIL要种在阳光充足而水流通畅的地方,我去年种的几颗非常成功,今年新种的第一棵却上来就夭折,高手指点我说浇水不够,刚种下的时候水要给足。
theme好像很难保鲜,有时从地里揪一把出来,没一天就都干了。给朋友带去的时候会在摘下之后用沾湿了得纸整个包裹住,然后放进塑料袋子里。这个只是权宜之计,这样之后还是要放进冰箱里才保留得长。

可以做成百里香精油或是百里香醋。把新鲜的百里香放到瓶子里,醋浸7天,油浸9天左右,就可以了。

做精油用甘蓝油还是jojoba ? 做完了是用来洗澡还是烧菜?七天之后要拿出来么?

好象是往沙拉,皮萨,意大利面上洒,或者蘸面包吃。有些连锁馆子喜欢在桌上放这个,还有辣椒碎或辣椒油。我见的是浸在里头不拿出来的,至少起个装饰作用哈。

I have only used bay leaves in making chicken soup. I guess you can use it in stews, too.

I just took a soup and sauce cooking class. The chef use a bundle of thyme and 2 bay leaves in everything, which is only natural -- she studied in Italy.

虽说是用什么油都行,我觉得还是用橄榄油最好,到时候了也不用取出来,在瓶子里很是摇曳生姿的,放在桌子上看着也漂亮。用它来做沙拉的seasoning不错的。对香薰没什么研究,原来送了一瓶给一个朋友,她是拿来当精油用的,thyme对感冒,咳嗽什么有疗效。鲜百里香也可以做茶来喝,和蜂蜜配在一起,可以治咳嗽。
bay leaves味道香是香,可是不能煮时间长了,不然会出苦味的,煮到一半的时候最好就拿出来。以前都是腌鸡翅什么的时候放两片,后来有一次做那个蔬菜牛肉汤,放了几片,在电子瓦餐里煮了两个多小时,从此以后算是知道了。

嗯,今天在超市买东西正好琢磨了一瓶浸泡的百里香和罗勒蒜蓉,配料上都是橄榄油。
百里香直接冲水当茶也挺好,我因为喝茶睡不着,现在喝的都是这些香料水。
洛洛啊,Jessica我可舍不得买*_*。如果发了财,可能先去买Episode,它俩好象差不多价位。当然如果实在发得太厉害,就再换别得,该换什么我现在还没筹划到。

报告,最后bayleaf 是夹在吸水纸里压书中间放了几天,几天想起来拿出来看了看已经干了,放在密封小塑料罐里就好拉。百里香泡在水里冻成冰,效果不知道,要下次烧菜用到再看。不过那就不知道要什么时候了。
